Bunny Vets in Vegas

Rabbits are considered exotic pets by the veterinary world. They are more expensive to treat than dogs or cats because it takes special training to diagnose and care for them. Below are the Las Vegas vets we trust with our rescued bunnies.

Bunnies Are Exotic Pets

Most people are not aware that these cute little pets are considered exotic pets by the animal world. They are more expensive to vet than dogs or cats because it takes special training to be able to diagnose and treat bunnies. Please make sure you have access to a rabbit-savvy vet before adopting.

"Dr. Blakesley and her staff are extremely caring and attentive to all your animals. Dr. Blakesley has been very generous in donating additional time and medicine to help care for many of our rescued bunnies. So far she has spayed and neutered over 1,000 rescue bunnies for Bunnies Matter Rescue with fantastic results — and that is even more impressive when you know that most rescue bunnies aren't always the healthiest of animals."

"If your bunny is not acting normal and it is after hours, on a holiday, or on the weekend, this place can treat your bunny until you can get it to an exotic vet. It's very sad to say that there are no exotic bunny vets available in Las Vegas for rabbit emergencies."

Important: Feeding Before SPAY OR NEUTER Surgery

Unlike dogs and cats, rabbits should NOT be fasted before surgery. Their digestive systems need to keep moving. Always confirm pre-surgery feeding instructions with your vet, but in general your bunny should eat a little something first thing in the morning (However, you don't want their stomachs full either, especially female bunnies). One of our vets recommends that when bringing your bunny in for surgery, that there is no food or hay in the carrier. However, do bring a small bowl of pellets and maybe a little romaine lettuce for them for after surgery.
