Bunnies Matter Rescue — Adoption Contract

By checking each item below and signing at the bottom, the adopter agrees to the following terms and conditions of adoption from Bunnies Matter Rescue:

Adoption/ Foster to Adopt Application & Contract Continued

As a responsible rabbit owner, I will consider my rabbit a family member and will be housed inside. I will make every effort to commit to the care of my rabbit for his/her lifetime (may live 10+ years), even during times when having a rabbit is inconvenient, such as when moving or when experiencing training/behavior difficulties.

I will rabbit-proof the area my rabbit has access to for both my rabbit's safety and that of my possessions. I will keep houseplants and electrical wires out of my rabbit's reach. Electrical cords will be hidden or covered with plastic tubing to prevent accidental electrocution.

I will provide sufficient housing for my rabbit. It will be large enough for my rabbit to sit upright, stretch, turn around and be active (minimum of one exercise pen). It will contain food, toys, and a litter box. All or some portion of the flooring will be solid. I will use rabbit-safe litter, NOT clay, clumping cat litter or wood shavings.

I will give my rabbit exercise time outside of their exercise pen every day. If any exercise is given outdoors, it will be supervised in a safe area to prevent escape via digging and climbing and be safe from any predators. My rabbit will not be allowed in this enclosure after dark.

I will provide proper grooming for my rabbit; this includes brushing and nail trims. I will have my rabbit's teeth checked for overgrowth. I will always keep my rabbit in good health, which includes providing my rabbit with regular veterinary care from a veterinarian knowledgeable in rabbit medicine.

I will provide a balanced diet to my rabbit. This will consist of Timothy or other grass hay (80% of diet), fresh vegetables (10%) and fruit / treats (5%), and Timothy based pellets only as treats (5%). Fresh water will always be provided.

I will never physically abuse my rabbit, nor will I allow another person to do so. I will always supervise any children when they interact with my rabbit.

If I am unable to care for my rabbit and/or unable to maintain this agreement for any reason, I will contact Bunnies Matter immediately for assistance. I will not sell, give away, or abandon my rabbit.

Foster to Adopt: There may be special circumstances when a rabbit is not able to be spayed/neutered at the time of adoption (i.e. Our Foster to Adopt Program). If this is the case with my rabbit, I agree to get my rabbit spayed/neutered by the agreed upon date and to provide proof of such to Bunnies Matter in a timely fashion, and the bunny/bunnies will not leave the state until they have been fixed. By Clark County & City of Las Vegas ordinances, this adoption is not final until the spay or neuter is performed. The said rabbit will remain the property of Bunnies Matter until the spay or neuter has been confirmed.

I will submit a photo to Bunnies Matter of my bunny set up ASAP, to include in the photo(s): the location of the pen in the room, the contents of the pen (litterbox, food, water bunnies etc.)

I WILL NOT HOLD BUNNIES MATTER or THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS or FLOYD LAMB PARK (AND ITS OFFICERS, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, VOLUNTEERS AND/OR AGENTS) RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE, INJURY, OR HARM CAUSED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY TO ANY PERSON OR PROPERTY BY THE PET. I HAVE READ THE DISCLAIMER AND AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
